Easter Babies

Easter is always fun for dressing babies in pretty pastel colors and taking pictures. Here are a few shots I got of the kids in their church clothes.

Gabe is doing well. He started preschool with Aunt Bre', and he really seems to enjoy it. He is still restless during the day most of the time and is sometimes a bully to the babies, but I guess that comes with the territory when you're a big brother. He is also very loving to baby and he loves snuggling with mama.

Shaura is still too chicken to walk, but she will take a few steps. She waves "bye bye" and says, "up" when daddy comes home.

My handsome boy.  He doesn't ever mug for the camera like Shaura does, but he's still adorable.

Gabe loves dragging the babies around in the wagon, and it's hilarious to watch how determined he is, even when it's up a steep hill.

Shaydon is way too busy and independant to "pose" for pictures or hold still long enough to take a group shot, but he always has fun outside.  He started walking at the end of March, and he's running all over the place now.

Wagon time

Spring is so close!! It was nice enough last night that Trev and I decided to bundle the babies and play outside. Shaura surprised us when our backs were turned and climbed up into the red wagon by herself. I pulled her around for a second, (holding her the entire time to make sure she wouldn't fall out). Then, Gabe wanted a turn. I dragged him around the yard for about 10 minutes. That is a GOOD workout. After a few minutes of that we decided to see if Shaydon would sit in Gabe's lap. Gabe is a cuddle bug and loves to hold the babies, but they never let him. They are too wiggly. I wasn't very optimistic about putting Shaydon there, but we tried. Lo and behold, he LOVED it!! Gabe did a good job holding him tight and they rode around for several minutes. I had to get the camera out. They were both so happy! Rare photo op.
Toward the end of the ride, Gabe decided to bite Shaydon's ears. Luckily, they were just the ears on his hat.
Shaura stayed busy playing on the grass while the boys were riding. She is the most easy-going of the 3 babies. She always smiles for the camera and makes great eye contact too. She is my little princess!
After the boys were done riding, Trev decided he wanted to use the other wagon for Shaura. I didn't think she would be able to hold on by herself but she did pretty well!
Shaura looked lonely all alone in that wagon, so we wedged Shaydon in there with her. I could not BELIEVE how well the babies did! We took them around the entire neighborhood and even visited a couple of friends. They didn't get impatient or fuss at all. They just relaxed and enjoyed the ride. I can't believe they are big enough to do this! What a fun night. We are so blessed!

1 year old!!

The babies are a year old!! I can't believe how fast they have grown. What a year! We had a party with my family, then celebrated with Lynn and Tina a week later. Thanks to everyone for making it so fun!!
I attempted to make a cupcake "cake" for the parties. The first was a little scary. I think the second one turned out pretty well. I was proud of the second attempt.
Here I am proudly holding my second attempt. It wasn't wobbly the second time around. Not sure if I will ever attempt this one again!!
The babies are getting so big! They were cute opening and examining their presents at both parties.
Shaura was all smiles. Shaydon, as usual, dug right into his presents and started playing.
Cake eating is always fun at a 1st birthday party. They started out kinda slow, but after a few minutes they both got into it. Shaydon actually ate most of this cake. He had a sick tummy that night, but he sure had fun!
We washed the babies in my mom's kitchen sink. We couldn't get the frosting off! their skin was extra soft (greasy) for a couple of days.
This year has flown by. I can't believe how sweet and interractive they both are. Very distinct personalities. Happy birthday babies!! We love you!

Karter, Becky and Cali

We had the awesome opportunity to go to California with Trevan's family. Karter and Becky made it official in an absolutely beautiful beach ceremony. We are so happy for them!!! It was great to get away from the kids for a few days and focus on us. We stayed at our Oceanside timeshare, and it was beautiful.
We had a lot of fun on the pier with family and got to hold some interesting sea life.
They called this funny looking guy on the left a Shovel-nose Shark. The spines on its back were actually pretty sharp, and they were a little uncomfortable to hold. And of course, we can't have a vacation without an embarrassing picture of Trevan. Thanks baby.
I took on a new hobby on the drive to Cali; (because I don't have enough hobbies... ha ha.) Trev's family was nice enough to wear the necklaces and earrings, even though they weren't perfect. They are a combination of little crocheted medalions, beads and chains. I added fabric flowers to a few of them. On a side note, when I got home I learned to make fabric flowers because I was unable to find them when I wanted them!
We got some fun pictures on the beach after the wedding too. Thanks for the fun opportunity to go to California Karter and Becky! We love you guys! Congrats!

Holiday Bliss

The holidays are officially about the kids. I guess I'm really a grown-up now! When did THAT happen?! My usual focus was different as I watched our 3 beautiful babies. Christmas Eve we spent with the Stowes; (my mom's family). We got some fun shots of Gabe and his cousins. A bunch of little blondies! Christmas morning was relaxing at home, but that quickly changed to busy busy! First to my parents' house for a gift exhange, then off to Lynn and Tina's house. We had an awesome day with family. Gabe loves opening presents now!
Trev thought it was a good idea to use shredded paper in the gifts he gave me. He and Gabe spent hours shredding this paper about a week before Christmas. I had no idea he was going to stuff nearly every box with it. We had a HUGE paper mess in the living room, but Shaydon and Shaura had fun playing in it. Best Christmas morning! Merry Christmas!!
